The Grand Canal Pastry Mold Museum opens
The museum officially opened to the public on Cultural and Natural Heritage Day. Jiangnan has long been known as the land of pastries, where during festive seasons, every household makes delicate cakes and pastries to express blessings and good wishes. Each pattern of the pastries originates from finely carved “pastry molds”, which not only showcase the beauty of traditional folk craftsmanship but also embody deep cultural sentiments. The museum houses over 7,000 pastry molds, some dating back to the Southern Tang (937–975), reflecting the rich pastry culture and carving art along the Grand Canal.
Location: No. 99 West Shitang Street, Tangqi Ancient Town
