Shangri-La has recently unveiled its new ultra-luxury brand, Shangri-La Signatures, marking the debut of its flagship property: the Silk Lakehouse.
Located on the shores of the UNESCO World Heritage Site West Lake, the Silk Lakehouse is heralded as ushering in “a new era of Asian hospitality, where cultural heritage, artistry, and nature converge”.
The hotel was designed by Belgian interior architect Gert Voorjans and Spanish designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán, inspired by a Jiangnan silk merchant’s home. The hotel contains 68 rooms and suites, providing views of West Lake or the hotel’s private gardens. Its rooms also feature freestanding bathtubs and AI-responsive mattresses, highlighting Hangzhou’s integration of smart technology .
The hotel features an indoor swimming pool and four dining and beverage venues. Under the direction of Michelin-starred chef Alan Yu, the Living Room serves contemporary Western cuisine, while the bar -- collaborating with San You -- showcases creative cocktails. The Golden Silk dining venue reinterprets classic Hangzhou dishes, and the Tea House hosts immersive tastings of local teas. The hotel is now open for reservations through its official website.
