You are welcome to step into a world of nature, culture, and art at Zhijiang Culture Center since it was opened to the public on Aug 29.
The Zhijiang Culture Center, located in Hangzhou's Xihu district, is a new cultural hub bringing together five major facilities, with an aim to break through boundaries of time and space and create a multi-dimensional cultural complex.
The venue showcases an open, Jiangnan-style courtyard layout with intricately layered rooftops. Its facade boasts open glass walls, with stone surfaces resembling the traditional brickwork, seamlessly combined with transparent glass walls. Adorned with faux wood-grain aluminum panels and wooden panes, it harmoniously blends into the natural cityscape with its dark metallic undulating roof.
Zhejiang Library Zhijiang Branch
Serving as the main branch of the Zhejiang Library, it integrates digital libraries, intelligent architecture, and other new intelligent technologies as a comprehensive, research-oriented, and modern hub for knowledge and information in the province.
Zhejiang Provincial Museum Zhijiang Branch
Taking the largest single building within the Center, it is a modern public cultural space that encompasses collection, preservation, research, exhibition, promotion, education, and cultural experiences.
The breathtaking painting "Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains" by Huang Gongwang from the Yuan Dynasty is on display at the newly-opened museum. Don't miss out this rare opportunity to immerse yourself in this masterpiece. The exhibition "Fair Ladies-Digital Representations of Ancient Chinese Women" also allows you to experience ancient vibes using the cutting-edge techs including sights, sounds, and beyond.
Zhejiang Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum
As the first large-scale regional comprehensive intangible heritage museum in China, it presents the panorama of Zhejiang's intangible cultural ecology and is designed to be a dynamic intangible heritage exhibition hall.
Zhejiang Literary Center
The center takes ancient literature and modern classic literature of the province as its key themes, which boasts six theme exhibition halls and three temporary exhibition halls to feature Zhejiang's rich literature heritage. In the future, literature-themed talk shows are expected to be held here on regular basis, displaying ancient poetry installations, and theatrical restoration of classic work scenes.
