Bearing the memories of Hangzhou in the old time, the agricultural products wholesale market was hailed as a "hero" on its new return.

Urban Kitchen, reconstructed on the previous site of wholesale market in Gongshu District (No.115 Shiqiao Road), opened its door for business on March 19. It is not only the largest "farmers' market" in Hangzhou, but also the first urban commercial complex with agricultural characteristics in China.

The project won the Gold Award of China's Construction Engineering Steel Structure in 2021. The whole building is designed like prototyped barns and terraced fields, symbolizing abundance and natural creation, infusing the facade with a modern sense. The combination of the fish-bone shaped decorations and the platinum painting indoors conveys a special taste and creates a quiet and cozy space.

With three floors underground and five above, the overall area reaches 310,000 square meters, including a commercial area of about 110,000 square meters.

At present, you can explore the opening areas from B1 (the 1st floor underground) to F2 (the 2nd floor). Seafood and aquatic products are sold in B1 and frozen foods are accessible on F1. Life market on F2 sells vegetables, fruits, oils, dry goods, spices and other food materials.

Aiming at turning into the urban "vegetable basket" of Hangzhou, the complex will contain fresh food sales, modern cold chain, herbal products, imported foods, leisure and entertainment in the near future.
