Spring has always been the favorite season as it brings warmth and renewed vigor to the land.
春天一直是最受人们欢迎的季节，它给大地带来温暖和生机。
The traditional Chinese lunar calendar divides the year into 24 solar terms. One of them, the third in particular is called “The Awakening of Insects”, which falls on March 5th this year.
中国传统农历将一年分为24个节气。其中，第3个节气叫“惊蛰”，在今年的3月5日。
At this time, the weather gets warmer, and animals awaken under the call of the spring thunder. Hearing thunder on that day, or shortly thereafter, is considered a sign of good luck and an indicator of favorable weather to come.
这段时间，天气变暖了，动物们在春雷的呼唤下苏醒了。如果在“惊蛰”或之后不久天上打雷，就会被认为是好运和好天气到来的标志。
In Chinese mythology, The God of Thunder is pictured as a man with a series of drums around him holding a big drumstick. His every beat creates thunder, which on that day awakens the universe as well as all living creatures.
在中国神话中，相传雷神手持大鼓槌，周身环绕一圈鼓。在“惊蛰”当天，他每击鼓一次都产生雷声，唤醒宇宙和所有的生物。
As a solar term, the Awakening of Insects is also very important for the farming season. All over the country, working people of all ages attach great importance to it, viewing it as the start of the spring plowing season.
“惊蛰”对农作也很重要。全国各地的劳动人民都十分重视这一节气，把它视为春耕季节的开始。
Pears are usually associated with this term and for good reasons. Eating pears is highly recommended as it is easy to get a cold for the warmer weather and dry air. A pear is considered sweet, juicy and helps maintain a good health all along.
“惊蛰”也时常和“梨”联系在一起，这是有说法的。天气乍暖还寒，空气干燥，这时候人很容易感冒，所以建议多吃梨。甜且多汁的梨有助于人体健康。
During the Awakening of Insects solar term, people should pay more attention to the weather forecast, be wary of weather changes, and protect themselves from seasonal diseases.
在“惊蛰”期间，大家更加需要关注天气预报和天气变化，保护自己，从而免受季节性疾病的侵害。
