搭建两国文化、青年与体育的对话桥梁
扎姆里·哈姆达尼指出,近年来,文莱和中国积极寻求文化、青年、体育间的对话沟通,通过团队交流、文化演出和官员访问进行文化合作。
文莱积极参与在中国的文化交流活动。早在2019年5月,文化、青年与体育部长塞里·哈吉·阿比丁就出席北京举行的首届亚洲文明对话会议,会见了中国文化和旅游部长雒树刚;2020年12月26日,塞里·哈吉·阿比丁部长作为主宾出席了“中国日”开幕式。
两国友好促进青年合作项目。在2012年启动的中国志愿者计划下,由中国政府赞助的33名中国志愿者在文莱大学和其他学校担任助教。
体育交流深化两国合作往来。文莱参加了中国举办的多个体育项目,包括中国田径公开赛、亚洲青少年运动会、亚洲青少年武术锦标赛、亚运会、青奥会和世界传统武术锦标赛。
值得关注的是,2019年9月2日,时任文莱国家足协主席彭吉兰·本达哈拉·斯里王公与中国足协主席陈旭远在北京足协总部签署谅解备忘录。合作领域包括足球治理、国际足球关系、训练营、知识和经验交流等,重点完善足球结构、能力建设、裁判发展和商业化,这为两国足球事业发展带来深远影响。
培训计划让两国人才交流更专业。扎姆里·哈姆达尼提到:“当前时期,文莱国家足球队在中国接受训练,备战2022年卡塔尔世界杯和2023年亚足联亚洲杯预选赛第一轮对阵蒙古的比赛。该队还与北京体育大学进行了一场友谊赛。就在去年7月26日-9月13日,我们在杭州为柬埔寨第32届东南亚运动会进行了武术训练。”文莱与杭州之间的赛事情缘,更深一度。
期待杭州举办一届出色的体育赛事
文莱最受欢迎的体育运动,包括足球、篮球和羽毛球三大项目。扎姆里·哈姆达尼还热情为我们盘点了文莱家喻户晓的体育明星:
巴斯玛·拉奇卡尔(武术),第一位获得2022年世界运动会武术金牌的文莱女运动员,2次获得东南亚运动会银牌;马兹亚·马胡辛(田径),2012年伦敦奥运会第一位女性奥运选手,在女子400米预赛中跑出的59秒28打破了文莱全国纪录,令人敬佩。同样还有足球明星阿迪·赛义德,目前效力文莱超级联赛俱乐部Kasuka FC;在重竞技型体育项目中,纳什鲁尔·巴卡(举重运动员),在新加坡举行的2022年英联邦运动会国际举重比赛中,赢得61公斤级比赛的冠军。
“我相信,任何参加国际赛事的运动员/代表团都必须遵循非常严格的程序,以确保将符合现有标准和合适的运动员送往比赛现场。”海潮涌入钱塘江畔,逐浪砺“兵”,扎姆里·哈姆达尼期待文莱体育代表团的整装出发,并表达了对杭州亚运会筹办工作的信心与祝福:“我们祝愿大家一切顺利,并希望这一备受期待的综合性体育赛事在杭州出色地举办!”

Build a bridge of dialogue between the two countries in culture, youth and sports
Zamri Hamdani noted that in recent years, Brunei and China have actively pursued dialogue and communications in terms of culture, youth and sports, and had cultural cooperation through team exchanges, cultural performances and official visits.
Brunei has actively participated in cultural exchanges in China. Back in May 2019, the Minister of the Culture, Youth and Sports Department, Mr. Seri Paduka Haji Abidin attended the first Conference on the Dialogue of Asian Civilisations held in Beijing and met with the Chinese Culture and Tourism Minister Luo Shugang; On 26 December 2020, Minister Seri Haji Abidin attended the opening ceremony of the China Day as an honorary guest.
The friendship between the two countries promotes youthful cooperation projects. Under the China Volunteer Program (CVP), launched in 2012, 33 Chinese volunteers have served as teaching assistants to UBD and other schools, sponsored by the Government of China.
Sporting exchange deepens the bilateral cooperation and exchanges. Brunei has participated in a number of sports events held in China, including the China Open Track and Field Championships, the Asian Youth Games, the Asian Youth Wushu Championships, the Asian Games, the Youth Olympic Games and the World Traditional Wushu Championships.
Notably, His Royal Highness Pengiran Bendahara Seri Maharaja Permaisuara Pengiran Muda Haji Sufri Bolkiah, then President of the National Football Association of BD and Mr. Chen Xuyuan, President of Chinese Football Association (CFA) signed a MOU at CFA's headquarters in Beijing. The areas of cooperation include football governance, international football relations, training camp, exchange of knowledge and experiences which focuses on improving football structure, capacity building, referee development and commercialisation.
The training programme makes the exchanges between the two countries more professional. Zamri Hamdani mentioned, "BD National Football Team underwent training in China in preparation for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup 2023 Preliminary Joint Qualification Round 1 against Mongolia. The Team also played against Beijing Sport University in a friendly match. In 26 July-13 September 2021,Wushu Training in Hangzhou in preparation for the 32nd SEA Games, Cambodia." The friendship between Brunei and Hangzhou goes deeper.
An outstanding sports event in Hangzhou is anticipated
The most popular sports in Brunei include football, netball and badminton. Zamri Hamdani also gave us an enthusiastic list of Brunei's household sports stars:
Basma Lachkar (Wushu), the first Bruneian female athlete to win a gold medal at the 2022 World Games and a silver medal twice at the SEA Games; Maziah Mahusin (Athletics), the first female Olympian at London 2012, broke the Brunei national record by clocking 59.28 seconds in the women's 400m heats. So is the soccer star Adi Said, who plays for Brunei Premier League club Kasuka FC; In competitive sports, Nashrul Bakar, a weightlifter, won the 61kg weightlifting gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Singapore.
"For any participation by the athletes/contingent to international events, we have to follow a very strict process in ensuring the right athlete with a set quality and standard will be sent to the competition. It is still very early to nominate which athlete to go and which sport to participate in." Zamri Hamdani looked forward to the full readiness of the Brunei sports delegation and expressed his confidence and best wishes for the preparations for the Hangzhou Asian Games, "We wish you all the best and look forward with great anticipation to the excellent delivery of this much anticipated multi-sport event in Hangzhou."
