India, a populous country like China, was one of the first main sponsors of the Asian Games. In 1951, New Delhi hosted the first Asian Games; The Asian Games were back in New Delhi for the first time after 31 years. The 1982 Asian Games was not only the first Asian Games after the establishment of the OCA, but also the one that allowed the Chinese sports delegation to win 61 gold medals. Surpassing Japan for the first time, China leaped to the first place in Asia, attracting the attention of the media at home and abroad, and winning the title of "the first power in Asian sports".

Wish Hangzhou Asian Games a full success

In fact, although India is not a sports power in the traditional sense, sports such as cricket, hockey and wrestling are very popular.
